The Mummy MOT®

A comprehensive post natal check from a specialist Women’s Health Physiotherapist.

What is The Mummy MOT® postnatal check?

The Mummy MOT® is a specialist postnatal examination for women following either vaginal and C-section deliveries.

Whether you have recently given birth or you had your child a long time ago, I will assess how your posture, pelvic floor muscles and stomach muscles are recovering after childbirth.

This is suitable anytime from 6 weeks post vaginal delivery and 8 weeks post caesarian delivery and it’s never too late to have a Mummy MOT! Once post-natal, always post-natal!

Your whole core system will be checking including diaphragm, core abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles (including an internal vaginal examination – this isn’t essential but is recommended for a thorough assessment). Your C-section scar will also be examined if applicable.

Mums need to bend, squat and lift many times each day, so you will be provided you with gentle functional exercises and treatment to help with your recovery, to allow you to return to exercise safely and to cope with the everyday demands of being a mum!

  • A full postural and functional movement screen
  • Pelvic floor muscle assessment
